My Scattered Mind – A poem by Elisa English

Written on 3/16/2010

My minds, scattered, vague and elusive

Like fragments of images, seem so illusive

My thoughts filled with cloudy reveries, blur

Like floating collage of memories, in stir

Fuzzy faces and murky voices everywhere

Flutter my heart, leaving me in despair

I am a captive of my mind, nowhere out

Whatever damage time might have brought

To my memory, the future still seems bright

Whatever future turns into past, in its might

In my verse, my memory perpetuates.

And in me, my mind illuminates.

Note:

Stir = Prison (slang)
