〈偶題〉張耒

相逢記得畫橋頭 花似精神柳似柔

莫謂無情即無語 春風傳意水傳愁

A chance encounter at the bridge I recall thee

Vibrant like flowers, yet pliant like a willow.

Silence means no affection. Utter not! To thee

In wind whispers mine love; in water flows mine sorrow.  

Note:

This poem is about the poet’s reminiscence of a lady met at a bridge. Even though the poet did not utter a word, his affection was conveyed to the lady through the wind and his melancholy through the water.
