I came across a question that was removed later at Yahoo Knowledge, requesting translation of part of a Canto from Vita Nova. (但丁《新生篇》)
Tanto gentile e tanto onesta pare
La donna mia quand’ella altrui saluta,
Ch’ogne lingua deven tremando muta,
E li occhi no l’ardiscon di guardare
This is what I would translate in English.
When I have more time, I will try to translate the entire canto.
So gentle and so pure my lady portrays
Greeting others moving pass her way
Their tongues tremble with no words to say
And eyes captivated, dare not meet her gaze.
Just for your reference. My Chinese translation is pretty bad, so it is only provided for you to understand the meaning of the verse, in case you cannot understand my English translation.
我的夫人, 顯得如此高貴和純潔
向所有經過她的人打招呼
大家的舌頭直打顫,講不出話吔,
眼睛也不敢直視, 猶被迷惑住
