When disaster strikes, he is still unflappable.  I am so impressed that he didn’t turn a hair even when he is in a life or death situation.

For example:

He is such a laid back person.  However, it may just simply be that he is lazy.

keep your pecker up

For example:

Keep a stiff upper lip as you face misfortune.  Things will eventually turn around.

She is so strong-willed, always keeping a stiff upper lip.
