Is it summer yet?

It is probably hard to imagine that we still have to turn on the heater in June.  30 degrees Farenheit.  I don’t think that it is so bad.  I do wonder if this is going to extend the season of the swine flu.

Anyway, I decided to take a few pictures today as the weather is still gorgeous.  I like the temperature to be between 68 degrees and 72 degrees.  It is a little chilly than I would expect but I am not complaining.  As I actually prefer colder weather to warmer weather.  I am worried about visiting Taiwan in the summer.  Too hot and too humid for me.

These are pictures of our backyard and the deck.  I will try to remember to take pictures of the fall, so you can see the maple leaves turning into red.

  • I wondered why there is a bald square area without grass in the ceter of your yard when I first saw the photos,  then after you mentioned the pond, I saw the photos clearly again,  the bald square is the pond! How cute!
Are there fishes, turtles or frogs inside the pond? (not only mosquitoes.)
And thank you for answering my "stingy" question.
    Have a great summer time.
  • I don't think that there is fish, but I do see turtles and frogs.  We also have geese, baby geese, ducks, baby ducks, etc.
It serves as an ice skating rink for us in the winter.  Our ex-neighbor used to play broomball there too.

  • About my last 回應。Sorry about my poor English~
Shoud I say "stingier" or "more stingy".
I thought it should be "stingier",  like happy ~happier~happiest.
but my son said it should be "more stingy", is it right?
I think you are the one I should ask.

  • I would say "stingier".
He is the stingiest person I have ever met.

  • Nice back yard!  It feels so nice be surround by trees.
The temperature  around our area is around 50~70 degree, but we are not using heater.
I think  we are stronger than you. (ha,ha~just joking, actually, we are just more stingy than you, for saving the money.)
I also took some pictures of our backyard, wanna com over to see them?
  • The reason that we turned on the heater was because the temperature was between 30 to 40 degrees.  Remember that we are Minnesotans, we do not turn on heater when it was between 50 to 70 degrees.  We can tolerate cold but not heat.
