This is a question I answered at Yahoo Knowledge, but since the subject line is vague, I knew that someone would report it to be removed.  Just to make sure that others can still benefit from the quality answer I provided, I decided to post it here. 

 

This is it. 

(1) A person wanting to lose weight should not consume more than 25% of their calories intake from non – saturated fat.

一個人想要減肥, 飽和脂肪中攝取的熱量, 應減少到總(熱量)攝取量的25%以下.

(2a) One should lose half an ounce of water for every pound of the body weight daily.

=> This is a very odd statement.

一個人每天所減少攝取的飲水量每公斤體重約需減少半盎司的水

It implies that if you weigh 50 pounds, you should reduce your water consumption by 25 ounces per day.  So if you drink 30 ounces of water a day, you should drink 5 ounces per day now.

(2b) One should drink a half ounce of water for every pound of body weight daily.

一個人每天所應攝取的飲水量每公斤體重約需半盎司的水

=>  This states that if you weigh 50 pounds, you should drink 25 ounces of water per day (to reduce weight).  This sounds more logical to me.  I thought that 多喝一些水是減肥的關鍵.
