What is your motive?

I am puzzled with the phenomenon of people using online translators to provide translations to English at Yahoo Knowledge.  What are your motives?

Providing translations using an online translator is no different than driving blindfolded.  If you want to commit suicide driving blindfolded, nobody really cares.  However, if your act leads to injury or death of others, then you are committing a crime.  If your English is so bad that you have to rely on an online translator, what gives you the right to mislead others by providing translations using online translators.

Is your sole purpose to drag down others so that they will become one of you?  Does it make you feel good pulling others down with you so you are not the only one drowning?  I see.  Maybe your motive is to prevent others from getting ahead of you and have them stay behind you if not the same as you.

Another interesting phenomenon I saw at Yahoo Knowledge is the so-called English teacher.  All this is really beyond me (beyond my wildest dream or comprehension.) I see the position of a teacher a sacred one.  However, I cannot imagine how an English teacher in Taiwan can boldly ask the students to trust what he wrote when he doesn’t even master the most simple grammar rule, placing a verb in a sentence.  I believe this to be the most simple grammar rule and I believe it was taught in first grade (or as early as in kindergarten) when grammar is first introduced.  I don’t know when that is taught in Taiwan but I believe no later than junior high school.  To me, you are no better than the one using online translators to provide translations.

Anyway, by now, you probably know that I like to complain.  It is hard for me to stand what I see when answering questions at Yahoo Knowledge.  I really cannot understand.  I really don’t want to see all that as I hate keeping my mouth shut.  At the same time, I hate burdening myself with all this.  It would be easy to walk away as out of sight, out of mind.

  • I agree, there are so many dumbs in Yahoo Knowledge. And good thing is we have you here!!!
  • There are still a few good men/women.  Anyway, I have very little tolerance.  I am amazed that I am still tolerating all this and hanging in there.  Maybe, just like the article I just wrote, I should go and get a life too.
