Recently I received an email from Yahoo Knowledge inviting me to become I was hesitated at first as I am already overloaded with work, working full time as a project manager, as a housewife and mom maintaining a family of four, keeping a blog, managing four Yahoo Knowledge groups and at times answering Yahoo Knowledge questions.  There has been time that I slept only 2 hours a day for several weeks.  Call me crazy.  I probably need someone to pour a bucket of water on me.
I hate stress but I always bring stress to my life.

Nevertheless, this seems to present an opportunity for me to provide input to Yahoo Knowledge and at the same time enhance the quality of the answers in the English section.  All these prompted me to accept the invitation.  I know this road ahead of me would be tough as I am not an employee of Yahoo and have no power or control over what they implemented or will be implementing.  I can only provide my input in the hope that it will somehow make it through the tunnel and a difference instead of a drop in the bucket.  I don’t know how much weight my suggestion would carry and I cannot correct the current problems of vote manipulation, retaliation or removal of questions based on the existing Yahoo rules.  You can see from my Yahoo Knowledge profile that I have been a target of retaliation too many times.

Maybe I will regret taking on this assignment in a few days.  However, it is a start.  You will never know whether you will succeed or not if you don't give it try. Maybe I will get tired of all these and decide to call it a quit someday.  As for now, I will try to hang in here as long as I can.

I'm xxxxxx years old這一句,真是太可惜了,雖然我也沒寫

  • Thanks for your compliments.  I do sometimes question how much help I provided because I answered the questions in English the majority of the time, and people have been telling me that they could not understand.
By the way, I do have a question for you.  What is "XD"?  I saw a lot of people using it, but I don't know what it meant.  I am old and could not catch up with the lingos.  Like the time I spent almost a month, trying to figure out what "粉絲" meant in a Chinese newspaper I read.  I thought it was Cantonese written in Chinese.  Like when we write Taiwanese in Chinese.   I finally realized that it was the English pronunciation of "fans" written in Chinese.

  • Yes, I know.  I think that it has become an addiction.  I constantly feel the urge to walk away from answering the questions because I really feel tired of it.
By the way, for any Chinese characters you see in my blog or in my answers or in my knowledge group, they are all copied and pasted from the online dictionary provided by Taiwan's Dept of Education.  Every one of the character I posted takes up a lot of my time.  That's one reason you see me answering mostly in English.  Another reason is that my Chinese is not as good and I don't want to misinterpret something.
If there are words you cannot find from the dictionary, just leave them in the message board, and I will take a look at them.
