過河拆橋 - 每日一辭(英)

I don't know why "Dismantle the bridge after crossing it" (過河拆橋) came to my mind.  Maybe because I don't trust that Ministry of Foreign Affair would really honor this for civilians. 

Anyway, this Chinese proverb doesn't seem to fit nicely in this situation.  However, I can't think of anything else to describe how I feel about the entire situation.  What I want to say is that Ministry of Foreign Affair is just using you as an excuse (camouflage) to give special treatment to Wu's grandson.  My doubt is that once his grandson gets the passport, Ministry of Foreign Affair will dismantle the bridge after crossing it and you as civilians will not be able to get the same benefit since now you are of no value.
