African Proverb:

When eating an elephant, take one bite at a time.

You must eat an elephant one bite at a time.

The way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.

 

What does this proverb mean?

It is similar to “Little drops make a mighty ocean”, 「滴水成河」,

 “Many a little makes a mickle”, 「積少成多」,

“Little grains of sand make the beauteous land”, 「聚沙成塔 ()」、

 

One bite at a time” means taking small steps at a time will eventually accomplish a big task.
